You shouldn't use the Lesser GPL for your next library (gnu.org)
The GNU Project has two principal licenses to use for libraries. One is the GNU Lesser GPL; the other is the ordinary GNU GPL. The choice of license makes a big difference: using the Lesser GPL permits use of the library in proprietary programs; using the ordinary GPL for a library makes it available only for free programs.

Glad to see a little bit more copyleft being adopted by Android now that they are using parts of the OpenJDK class library. Even if the GNU Classpath Exception is probably the weakest form of copyleft there is. It is interesting how the GPL makes frenemies like Oracle and Google work together.

Of the many, the GNU General Public License (GPL) stands out the most.
