Some people have requested transparency into how Libera came to the conclusion that we needed to take the drastic action of requesting that Element Matrix Services (EMS) deactivate the portalling bouncer-like feature of the Matrix bridge and limit it to explicitly opted-in plumbed rooms, and then escalate to more serious action in requesting the bridge be disabled fully.

Update on Native Matrix Interoperability with WhatsApp (matrix.org)
Back at FOSDEM in February we showed off how Matrix could be used for E2EE-preserving messaging interoperability as required by the Digital Markets Act messaging interoperability - and we announced that Element had been working with Meta on integrating with its DMA APIs in order to connect WhatsApp to Matrix.
